Sermon Notes - Getting "Unstuck"
At church yesterday, my current pastor spoke about getting unstuck in finances. It's part of an entire series based on practical ways of getting unstuck in life.
What I appreciate about this series is the approach it takes. Yesterday, He spoke about practical steps to getting out of debt. Next week, I'm sure there will be more practical life applications. Instead of focusing on general principles, he is choosing to provide practical applications.
It causes me to remember, the Christian faith is not just a theory. It's not a pie in the sky concept that helps us escape the real world in our minds. It's not even a way to "rise above" what's really going on in our lives. It's a faith that changes who we are as we enter into a relationship with the living God. This can, and should, change every area of your life, in principal and in practicality.
Christ came that we would have abundant life. That doesn't mean that we will get everything we want. And it certainly doesn't mean we'll be perfect. But it does mean that through God's principles (as found in the Bible) and his power (through his Holy Spirit), we are able to overcome and get unstuck.
It's not a theory, it's a way of life. And for that, I'm grateful.
